Our first destination in South East Asia was Vietnam. Hanoi is known with it's rich nightlife and especially street food. We found ourselves often taking walks on the busy streets at night and that's why I ended up with lots of photos of nightlife in Hanoi. Mixed with some interesting experiences. This is a typical view in Hanoi old town - endless bars, endless crowds, cheap beer and even just walking through enjoying the buzz is entertaining :) These photos are made at 4-6am when we decides to visit local wholesale markets for fruits-vegetables and flowers. And by local I mean LOCAL - we were only tourists going around there and locals don't actually like that you're there, we got some angry faces from tired and grumpy salespeople. I basically made those pictures secretly, and we got out of there as fast as we could. Environment was very hostile. Flower market was a lot better though, how could you be very grumpy when selling pretty flowers.. :) One of the coolest things about Hnaoi, is that is has a train street - meaning that train goes through the city, and not in a way that you sometimes see in big cities, but it's literally between the houses and doesn't slow down! You can read about how to find it and all else from here. We asked locals and waited for and half an hour or something, and there it comes - light at the end of the tunnel- It flew by, feels scary to be soooo close to a train! Unique experience but be very careful and stay close to walls! Hanoi is one of our favourite cities in Southeast Asia, ofc we haven't visited every city, but at least as much as we know. Liked the food, old town and the park area. Recommended over Saigon for example! Go and see yourself.
